This past February the 2015 4R Advocates attended the
Commodity Classic in Phoenix, AZ. The five
winning growers, a spouse or companion and their winning retailers enjoyed
an expense-paid trip to the Commodity Classic as a part of being selected as a
4R Advocate. The Commodity Classic is the once-a-year, can’t-miss event for America’s soybean, corn, wheat and
sorghum farmers.
Upon arrival in Phoenix the 4R Advocates enjoyed a welcome
reception to meet and greet with their fellow advocates as well as TFI
staff. Once the Commodity Classic was up
and running the advocates each took time to visit in with the 4R Nutrient
Stewardship tradeshow booth. While
spending time in the booth the Advocates visited with other growers and
stakeholders on the importance of fertilizer best management practices. They also took time to give a personal
interview with TFI on how they utilize the 4R Nutrient Stewardship Program in
their own operations. Each advocate
video will be posted to the 4R Nutrient Stewardship Facebook page and shared
through various other means, including the links below throughout the
year.
The 4R Advocates also had plenty of time to enjoy the Commodity
Classic and were also honored at an invitation-only banquet. Take a look at this year’s group of advocates
below and the video highlighting their time at Commodity Classic.
