Ohio Farm Bureau
The Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF) is a nonprofit, grassroots agricultural advocacy organization of more than 214,000 family members. With headquarters in Columbus, Ohio, OFBF is a federation of 87 county Farm Bureaus. Each has its own board of trustees and volunteers who lead local initiatives. The mission of Ohio Farm Bureau Federation is to forge a partnership between farmers and consumers. This means advocating for Ohio’s farm families on issues that help them in business and in turn provide consumers a wide variety of food choices. OFBF members believe that people have the power to shape the world in which they live. And that when they’re given a place where they can work together, they have the ability to solve their own problems. OFBF exists so people can put ideas into action and bring about a better, more secure way of life.
With members in all of Ohio’s 88 counties, the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF) is the largest general farm organization in the state of Ohio. Our members produce virtually every kind of agricultural commodity and as a result, OFBF is strongly interested in Ohio’s environmental and natural resource policies and their potential impact to sustaining a viable agbioresource industry. OFBF policies support the development of programs that are scientifically based, economically sound and whenever possible, delivered in a flexible and voluntary manner.
4R Nutrient Stewardship is a program built upon a foundation that considers the environmental, economic, and social aspects of nutrient management leading to sustainable agricultural systems. This innovative approach for fertility management is consistent with OFBF’s vision to “Forge a partnership between farmers and consumers that meets consumer needs, addresses public expectations and ensures agricultural prosperity in a global marketplace”.
